Hot Italian sausage links
medium russet potatoes
cut into bite-sized cubes
destemmed and torn into bite-sized pieces
heavy whipping cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Cayenne pepper to taste
strips thick-sliced bacon
cooked and chopped
Brown sausage links in a sauté pan. Then remove. Cut links in half lengthwise, then cut slices.
Place sausage, chicken broth, garlic, potatoes and onion in a slow-cooker. Add just enough water to cover the vegetables and meat.
Cook on high 3 hours (low 5 hours) or until potatoes are soft.
During the last thirty minutes
Mix flour into cream removing lumps.
Add cream and kale to the slow-cooker, stir.
Cook on high 30 minutes or until broth thickens slightly.
8. Add salt, pepper, and cayenne to taste.
9. Top with bacon immediately before serving.
