The Magnolia Inn is a fictional B&B in Jefferson, Texas. While reading the novel, I picked up a recent copy of Southern Living and saw a recipe for Homemade Orange Rolls. These would be the perfect addition to any B&B menu or for a special brunch. Even though recipes are not protected by copyright since I didn’t change the recipe, I am not going to repost it. Please click here to get to the recipe on the Southern Living site.
I love the smell of fresh-baked bread. The citrus scent of orange rolls is especially heavenly. For years, I would buy “whomp” biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and orange rolls in a can. (You know the kind where you peel off the label then whomp the can on the counter to open it?) The difference in taste between homemade and whomp rolls is truly worth the extra time and effort. My son makes the most divine cinnamon rolls. Hopefully, I will share his recipe in the future.
The total time to make these is 3 hours and 15 minutes, including the rise time. I was going to make an overnight version, but I got too excited and baked them as soon as they were ready. Get ready for some comfort food!
Do you enjoy the scent of oranges? I used orange essential oil in our diffuser next to Steve’s side of the bed. It is said that orange can lift your mood or reduce stress, reduce pain or inflammation, and relieve an upset stomach. Please comment! I would love to hear from you.
